RedLens is a product of Redlens Technologies Ltd, a company incorporated in England and Wales ("RedLens", "we", "us"). These Terms of Service govern your use of the RedLens website, applications, and services (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. We can be contacted at contact@redlens.tech.
RedLens helps families understand and talk about what they watch on social media. With the explicit authorisation of the account holder, we receive viewing activity (such as watch history, searches, and likes) from connected social media platforms through their official data portability tools, analyse it for kinds of potentially harmful content, and present the results to the family as signals, trends, and conversation guides.
RedLens is a parental tool built on transparency. It is not a covert monitoring product, and it must not be used as one.
The Service is built around joint, informed consent:
Connections to social media platforms are made through those platforms' official data portability and authorisation tools. Your use of those tools is also subject to the relevant platform's own terms and policies. We never ask for, receive, or store a connected account's password. Platforms may change, limit, or withdraw their data portability tools at any time; we are not responsible for such changes, though we will do our best to tell you about material impacts on the Service.
You agree not to:
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach this section.
Our collection and use of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. In short: we use connected-platform data solely to provide the Service; we do not sell personal data; and either the parent or the child can end a connection at any time.
The Service, including its software, design, branding, and content (excluding your data and platform data), is owned by Redlens Technologies Ltd or its licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for personal, non-commercial family use. All other rights are reserved.
Parts of the Service may be offered free of charge and parts may require payment. Where fees apply, they will be presented clearly before you commit, along with renewal and cancellation terms. We will give registered users reasonable notice of any change to pricing that affects them.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties and do not accept liability for: losses arising from decisions made in reliance on signals or other Service output; unavailability or withdrawal of platform data portability tools; or indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under the law of England and Wales. Our total aggregate liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of £100 or the amounts you paid us for the Service in that period.
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate the Service or your account for breach of these terms, for legal or security reasons, or on reasonable notice if we discontinue the Service. On closure, your data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy (deletion within 30 days, subject to legal retention requirements).
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email, and the "Last updated" date above will change. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you live elsewhere in the UK you may rely on the consumer protections and courts of your home nation.
